Prozac Interaction with other Medications
Prozac can interact with other medications. You should inform your doctor about your taking any medication from swelling, arthritis, fever or any pain-killer. The point is that these drugs contain the components that can make you bruise and bleed easily: nabumetone (Relafen), naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin),etodolac (Lodine), diclofenac (Voltaren), and others.
Tell your doctor if you are taking one of the following medications:
- haloperidol (Haldol);
- vinblastine (Velban);
- digitoxin (Crystodigin;
- alprazolam (Xanax);
- clozapine (Clozaril, Fazaclo);
- tryptophan;
- carbamazepine (Tegretol), phenytoin (Dilantin) or any other seizure-treating drug;
- warfarin (Coumadin) or any other blood thinning medication;
- other antidepressants, such as imipramine (Tofranil), escitalopram (Lexapro), sertraline (Zoloft), and others.
This list is not full, and there may be other Prozac-interacting medications. Inform the doctor about all medicines you are taking, including vitamins, minerals and herbals.
